**** v_Readme.txt file for VCad Toolset(R) v2.0 (C) D.V.D. 1997

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------
Vcad Toolset is a valuable set of new or enhanced commands for
Autocad. It is not intended as a comprehensive add-on program,
but rather, as a supplement to systems including those running
such a program. (In particular, the commands provided were
chosen to augment the Softdesk-7 product). Commands range from
simple shortcuts, to complex new functions.

Commands are issued with shortcut keyboard command names that may
be set by the user; specific program code is loaded automatically
only when needed. Setup files are provided to store user-specific
settings for layers, styles, sizes, etc. In addition, on a
system with Softdesk-7 (not required), the commands will
optionally monitor the current Softdesk layer-group name settings,
and set layer name modifiers appropriately.

A more complete summary of the toolset is included in the file, V_sumary.txt.

INSTALLATION AND DOCUMENTATION ---------------------------------------------
Specific steps are required for installation. Instructions are included
in the User Manual. Files in two formats are provided:

   1) v_Manual.rtf (Rich Text format)
   2) v_Manual.wpd (WordPerfect-5.2 format).

If separate directories were created during file extraction, these files
should be in the "Doc" directory.

For non Word Perfect users: If you use MS Word, the WP format may translate
best. Otherwise, if you have the option, it may be worth trying an import of
each file to see which translates better. In some cases for best results,
you may need to reset formatting of the document to its original:

Hyphenation: off Page size: 8.5x11 Top margin: .67"
    Bot margin: .67" Lmargin 1" Rmargin .75"
Font size: 10 pt. (except 8 pt for p.2 Command Listing)
    Page numbering: top-right, 10 pt.
Fonts used are limited to Times and Arial

ADDENDUM --------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION: Release 13 includes the file Acad13.lsp. You may append the
required load statement to this file (just before the last "(princ)") rather
than to Acad.lsp, You may, however, use an Acad.lsp file as Release-13 will also
auto-load a file by that name

TEXT UTILITY & EDIT EVERY ---------------------------------------------------
These programs make use of the AutoCad text edit dialog box. You may wish to
increase the dialog box size by editing the Acad.dcl file. Find the routine
that begines with "acad_txtedit : dialog {", and change the value in the
line following that reads "edit width = 40" to something like 100 (or maybe 80
for small screens.

SOFTDESK USERS: The default command (in Macros.lsp) for Copy (Prod Tools) is
"CO"; this may conflict with the Custom-Object command name as provided. Also
note, if using the Softdesk alternate commands (v_sdsk.lsp), you may wish to
edit textstyle and font names where indicated in the file.

RELEASE 14: Many of the VCad commands work will function in R14, however, a number
of them using polylines or boudary polys will not. (An upgradeis in the works).
